At Kayser Ranch, our farming operations consist of certified red Angus beef cattle, raised and sold to consumers. We directly market our self-raised and healthy red Angus cattle to local consumers.

What is Grass-fed Beef?
Grass-fed cows are raised in safer and more sterile living conditions; the quality of beef turns out far superior compared to grain-fed cows. Grass-fed beef tends to have lower total fat than grain-fed beef.

Grass-fed versus Grain-fed Beef
Grasss-fed cows are raised with care, free of hormones and antibiotics. Hence, the beef produced has a higher amount of nutrients and healthy fats. However, grain-fed cows lead a more stressful life. When cows are stressed, they produce the stress hormone cortisol. When cortisol is produced, the cow gets fatter and produces tougher and flavorless meat.
